West Ham are closing in on a deal to sign Sampdoria midfield player Pedro Obiang.
The Upton Park club are looking for a holding midfield player as a replacement for Alex Song, who is not expected to sign a permanent deal following a season-long loan from Barcelona.
West Ham have offered around £5 million for Obiang, 23, who has two Under-21 caps for Spain.
Sampdoria are said to want £7 million for Obiang but expect a deal to be sealed in the close season.
