Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has said he hopes friend and team-mate David de Gea is happy wherever his future lies.
De Gea has been widely linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer after failing to commit to United when asked about his next career move earlier this month.
Real want to tie up a deal quickly and have the Spain international in place before their pre-season schedule begins in mid-July.
United midfielder Mata 'wants De Gea in his team' next year but appears resigned to losing the club's two-time Player of the Year in the summer transfer window.

"Lots of people ask me about De Gea. He's a friend and I want him to be happy," the Spaniard told Marca.
"He's currently one of the best goalkeepers in the world. From a selfish point of view, I would want to have him in my team."
