Normal People’s Paul Mescal sheepishly came clean after missing a radio interview by sleeping through his alarm.
Mescal later took their call and appeared live on the show, admitting that he was "so embarrassed" by the blunder.
“I haven’t missed a single interview for however long… I’m so, so sorry," he told Ball, 49.

Mescal recently landed an Emmy nomination for his portrayal of Connell in Normal People, and he explained to the host that this week has "been a little bit nuts.”
“It probably is the reason that I’m up a little bit late," he said. “I’ve slept through my alarm a little bit."
Ball quipped: “You are totally forgiven!”
Mescal, who appeared on Thursday night at a livestreamed gig from the Natural History Museum, responded: “I’m not forgiving myself… I’m so angry with myself!”
Mescal's Emmys nomination is one of four received by the BBC Three hit Normal People but the actor’s co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones missed out on a nod.
Posting on Instagram after the shortlist was announced, Mescal told fans his nomination "exists because of Daisy."
Tagging her in the post, he wrote: “This only exists because of you and your extraordinary talent it’s as simple as that! Thank you all x.”
