A 14-year-old boy arrived at school minutes after being stabbed in south London.
The teenager was found by teachers at Deptford Green School with a stab wound to the thigh after being knifed in Lewisham this morning.
A 13-year-old boy has since been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a south London hospital.
Lewisham Police’s Twitter feed said: “This could have been much worse. It’s only luck that this child wasn’t more seriously hurt.”
A knife was recovered after the attack, which is believed to have happened in Avonley Road at around 8.50am.
Deptford Green School said in a statement: "A boy arrived at school with what looked like a stab wound and we dealt with it quickly.
"We believe it is something that happened on the way to school, with a pupil from another school.
"No pupil from this school has been arrested."
